A letter from Co-Founders

 


Once a Dream, Now an International Adventure! 

Our journey began in 2013: three lifelong and ambitious friends started WoodWatch, with the belief that sustainable products and materials have a potential of changing people’s perception about the impact of the products they wear, promote, and live by. After long hours of sketching and brainstorming, days became months and then the first prototypes became reality. These watches eventually led to the official launch of the brand in the summer of 2013.

From that moment onwards, the business took shape and grew in full force. What once was a night time project by three friends was now a full-time operation for a whole team located in different parts of the world - with head office being located in Rotterdam and our warehouse in Groningen. What was once started in the Netherlands, is now sold throughout the world. As one of the first wooden watch brand in the world, WoodWatch is now able to inspire people with modernly designed products made of natural wood.

WoodWatch is a sustainable company, which means we care about our planet and the generations to come. Wood is a beautiful and versatile material, which is a renewable natural resource. By planting at least three trees for every product sold, we are working towards a climate-positive impact. Our goal is to plant over 1,000,000 trees by 2025. Our team works hard to ensure that we only use the highest quality natural materials in our wooden products. We design by exploring the world and create unique products that we love to share with you.

Our story is about people who love to explore the world. Exploring is about going beyond the point where others would stop and dare to find new places. Travelling to the most untouched places in the world, to find the beauty that nature has to offer. Away from distractions and focused on the beauty around us.

The growth of WoodWatch 

WoodWatch started with just 3 models in 2013, one for males, one for females and one unisex watch. Now over 150 different models are designed and available on our store... In the future, our focus remains on crafting exceptional wooden watches, but also on expanding to new products that can help us to reach our goal.

WoodWatch started with just 5 team members back in 2013, while currently, after 7 years, more than 30 team members (having Y different nationalities) are putting their efforts in a lifelong brand of wooden products. WoodWatch is a growing international company engaging more and more team members from all over the world.

Over a 7-year-long journey, WoodWatch has built a community of customers from all over the world. We shipped to ‘X’ countries so far and we are aiming to build our customer base in all countries of the world.

Sustainability goals

Planting trees since 2013, we believe we can make a difference. Our planet and the environment have always been our priority. With Trees for All we make our parcel deliveries CO2 neutral and with Trees for the Future we plant 3 trees for every product sold.

WoodWatch is thankful to its community - thanks to you we’ve planted 70.000 trees so far and have the goal to plant 1 million trees by 2025.
